Junior Designer

Our award-winning design team is looking for a Junior Designer. You’ll work across you team and with other internal stakeholders to create amazing design solutions. 

The role

DDB Group is looking for a driven Junior Designer to create distinctive visual communications for our clients across a mixture of UX & UI design, brand, retail, and social campaigns. You’ll be experienced with Adobe and Figma design tools and have some formal qualification in design or art. With 1+ year of experience, you’re ready to hone your craft in a high-performance environment, surrounded by a passionate and supportive team.

You’ll be quick on the tools, creating concepts to finished art. Working closely and learning from the design leads and collaborating with internal stake holders to bring the work to life. You’ll be busy creating communications in every format for some of NZ’s most loved brands

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively to take concepts and craft them into polished designs across various media
• Understand client brand guidelines and be a brand guardian
• Assist in creating concepts, quickly producing rough artwork, slides and mock-ups for design and creative presentations.
• Deliver high quality designs with attention to detail within time and budget to finishing artists
• Present your designs to Creative Leads and Design Leads through several design stages of concept and executions
• Create effective working relationships across the Group to foster collaborative creativity and continue to the dynamic buzz of the agency

What will you bring?

You will have a real focus on your craft, and love designing engaging, branding, digital experiences with a focus on creative UI. Working within a talented team of motion, interactive and graphic designers, this could be a great opportunity for someone looking to develop in a supportive, creative environment.

• Ideally 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
• A solid knowledge of Adobe and Figma design tools. B.A in graphic design Communication Arts or equivalent
• The ability to work on own initiative or team
• Excellent project management skills and able to juggle multiple projects at the same time
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• Nice and Talented
• Passion for great design and creativity
