Modernizing Heritage Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga

Aotearoa’s rich history and culture can be found in the 6,000 buildings and places protected by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga. As the government agency responsible for identifying, protecting and promoting Aotearoa’s unique heritage, their website is a hugely important tool that enables them to connect them with the public. A key focus for the website was elevating Māori heritage. Tribal spoke directly to Kāhui Māori – incorporating workshops, data analysis, surveys, and interviews into the process. Partner agency RUN also played a key part in building the strategy of the Heritage New Zealand website through a te ao Māori lens. The new site is the beginning of a much larger digital transformation agenda set within Heritage NZ of which Tribal remains a key partner in delivery.
